After three years of clear scans, a routine biannual scan in November 2014 confirmed that there was a new growth in a different location of Aydan’s brain, near to the cerebellum (the back part of the brain). The tumor is only 7.4 millimeters long and is in a new location next to his original tumor area. Aydan had his brain surgery on the day after Thanksgiving in 2014.
The doctors successfully removed the entire tumor growth, and sent the biopsy for further tests. The tumor confirmed that it is the same kind of tumor Aydan had 3 year prior. After discussing with the medical team, Aydan received Cyber Knife (radiation) that targeted on the area where the tumor was located. He completed his treatment end of January of 2015.
